In the first visit, a meticulous survey of the patient’s medical and odontological history is made. When any systemic pathology is believed to be present, the patient is immediately referred to an expert in that specific area.

 Then an evaluation of the patient’s emotional profile and his her eating habits is made. The visit includes a clinical dental examination as well as an analysis of the position of the teeth in the arch, the condition of existing prosthesis, and other possible local causes such as a coated tongue, a periodontal disease, and so on.

 After a careful dental examination, the patient is submitted to sialography, and an analysis of volatile compounds in the oral cavity and the nasal fossa is made by using specific equipment. If necessary, radiographic examinations and tests of the biochemistry of the saliva may be requested.

 All data having been collected, our team can make a detailed analysis in order to identify possible causes of halitosis. A guided, specific treatment will then be applied to each case.
